Workshops

The Hallowell Singers have traveled throughout the state of Vermont to present workshops and offer in-services at hospices interested in creating a community of bedside singers.  There are currently groups started in Middlebury, Montpelier, Burlington and groups forming in Littleton, Peacham and Rutland.  These workshops can range from one to four hours.  They include the following;

  • Teaching songs
  • Stories and experiences shared
  • Information about how to create a
    group unique to your community
  • Guidelines for Singers
  • Guidelines for leaders
  • Discussions about the role of thehospice
    singer at the bedside of a
    dying person
  • What we’ve learned and continue to learn

These workshops provide an opportunity to gather resources,  learn new songs, and most of all be inspired to create a community of bedside singers through your area hospice and learn how to use music in this powerful and loving way. For information or to schedule a workshop: e-mail Kathy Leo at kleo@sover.net  or info@hallowell-singers.org or telephone Kathy Leo @ 802-463-4563
